A fragile bridge Connects me to you It’s as simple as love Though not nearly as new. It’s been stronger than storms That have blown in from sea There were times that I thought Waves would wash the bridge free But the bridge still stands Maybe battered and old Some may think it looks broken A bit lifeless or cold But the bridge has grown roots It’s deceptively strong It may stand there forever Or I may be dead wrong. ©jbz |
